Raw Plug-in 
Pentax is pleased to introduce a Photoshop plugin module that will allow the direct importation of Pentax *istD RAW images into Adobe Photoshop.
• System requirements: Windows ME/2000/XP, MacOS 9.0 or later, MacOS X 10.1.3 or later.
• This plugin will only recognize Pentax .PEF files (*istD RAW data).
• Usable with Adobe Photoshop 5.0 or later.
• Add custom processing of RAW picture data during import.

This page will give you instructions for, and allow you to download the *istD RAW data plugin module for Adobe Photoshop. These instructions presume you use a Windows computer.
You may wish to print this page to use as a reference.
2. After you have downloaded the PENTAX RAW Plugin.EXE file, double click it to decompress the plugin file. You will see something similar to the following:
Click the OK button as circled above.
3. Now, you will see the Photoshop plugin file, PTXRAW01.8ba, in the same place as the download file.
The plugin file is circled above.
4. You must copy this PTXRAW01.8ba file to the IMPORT-EXPORT folder inside of your Photoshop directory. To begin, right click the PTXRAW01.8ba file and select COPY as shown below.
5. Next, open the C: \ Program Files \ Adobe \ Photoshop \ Plug-Ins \ Import-Export folder. Please note, depending on your version of Photoshop, you may not have an Import-Export folder inside of the Plug-Ins folder. If you do not have an Import-Export folder, then just open your Plug-Ins folder.
6. Open your EDIT menu and click PASTE to copy the plugin file into the Import-Export folder (or into the Plug-Ins folder if your version of Photoshop does not have an Import-Export folder).
7. Now you are ready to import your *istD RAW images. Open Adobe Photoshop.
8. From the file menu, you can import a "PENTAX Raw File..."
9. From this next window, you can find your Pentax .PEF files. Use the "Look in:" dropdown (circled below) to open the directory containing your *istD .PEF files. You must import them one at a time; there are no batch import functions.
10. Now, you can import your RAW files into Photoshop, or run further processing tasks.

3. Now, you will see the Photoshop plugin file alongside the PENTAX RAW Plugin.sea.hqx download file.

4. You must copy this PENTAX RAW Plugin file to the Import/Export folder inside of your Photoshop folder. To begin, open your Mac hard drive, and find the folder where you installed Photoshop. Open the Plug-Ins folder, then open the Import/Export folder. Please note, depending on your version of Photoshop, you may not have an Import/Export folder inside of the Plug-Ins folder. If you do not have an Import/Export folder, then just open your Plug-Ins folder.
Simply drag your PENTAX RAW Plugin file into your Import/Export folder as shown above by the red arrow (or into the Plug-Ins folder if your version of Photoshop does not have an Import-Export folder).
5. Now you are ready to import your *istD RAW images. Open Adobe Photoshop, and from the file menu, you can import a "PENTAX Raw File..."
