The 8x36 DCF HS and 10x36 DCF HS are high-performance binoculars featuring a simplified body design and a lightweight, fiberglass-reinforced plastic body encased in a full-body protective rubber housing to protect the optics and inner mechanisms from external shock and assure a firm, comfortable hold. The combination of multi-coated optical elements and high-refraction BaK4-glass roof prisms treated with phase coating and super-reflection coating ensures a high-resolution, high-contrast image over the entire image field. The protective glass is incorporated in front of a group of objective focusing elements to prevent the intrusion of dust into the inner body.

The DCF HS-series binoculars offer JIS Class-4 weather-resistant capability for use around the water and in the drizzle. Both the rubber housing and the protective glass also serve to upgrade the binoculars’ weather resistance.

Other features include a long eye relief (16mm for the 8x36 and 17.5mm for the 10x36), helicoid-type extendible eyepiece rings, a click-stop diopter adjuster, and rain-shielding eyepiece caps. These binoculars also accept an optional tripod adapter (TP-3 or N) for quick tripod mounting and removal.
