High-resolution phase-coated roof prisms

Normally available only in the most expensive models, phase-coated prisms effectively cancel the phase difference created on the wave front of light passing through the prisms, thus producing sharp, high-contrast images with much improved resolution.

Multi-coated optical elements

All optical elements are treated with a special multi-layer coating to produce clear, bright images without flare. As a result, these new models are excellent choices for bird watching and hunting in the woods.

Waterproof body

In addition to the JIS Class 6-rated waterproof construction, these models are filled with nitrogen to eliminate fogging due to sudden temperature changes. As a result, they can be used safely under extreme weather conditions such as rain or snow.

Inner-focus optics

The Pentax-developed inner-focus optical design contributes to the reduced size and weight of these models, despite the large 28mm aperture of their objective lenses. At the same time, it improves the image sharpness and reduces distortion to a minimum.

Extra-short minimum focusing distance

The DCF MP's offer a minimum focusing distance of just three meters (9.9 feet), allowing you to capture a clear view of the subject from very close distances and making them ideal for such applications as bird watching and nature observation.

Long eye relief

The long eye relief design (20mm for the 8x28 and 19mm for the 10x28) makes it easier for you to see the image even when your eyes are moved away from the eyepieces. This feature is especially convenient for those who wear eyeglasses.

Four-step helicoid eyepiece rings with rain-shield caps

The eyepiece rings are easily pulled out for easier image viewing for eyeglass wearers. The four-step click-stop extension mechanism allows you to select one of four positions with ease for optimum viewing comfort. In addition, the eyepiece caps are designed to double-function as rain shields for more pleasant viewing in the rain or snow.

Click-stop diopter adjustment ring

The right eyepiece ring incorporates a diopter adjuster for near- and far-sighted users. Its click-stop mechanism prevents accidental shift during viewing.

Ergonomic body design with full-body rubber housing

The body is computer-designed to ensure maximum holding comfort even during extended viewing sessions. It is completely encased in a rubber housing to protect the optical elements and internal mechanisms from shock and damage for enhanced durability and reliability. The rubber housing also assures a firm grip even when the binoculars are wet and slippery.

Easy-to-operate center-focus system

The center-focus system allows accurate and speedy focusing on the subject with light fingertip control — without having to take your eyes from the eyepiece rings.
