The rugged Optio WG-1 GPS’s waterproof, shockproof, crushproof, coldproof and dustproof design, along with its 14 megapixels, wide-angle 5X internal zoom lens, HD video capabilities and inventive Digital Microscope mode with LED lens lighting, means that it can get the shots, near or far, and get back in one piece. It is equipped with a sophisticated GPS function which allows for positional data recording with images for geo-tagging applications.
- The Optio WG-1 GPS is the perfect choice for active photographers who shoot pictures in demanding conditions. It can be used underwater continuously for up to 2 hours at a depth of up to 10m. Its crushproof construction can withstand weights up to 100 KGF (kilogram-force) and shockproof design protects it against drops of 1.5m. It also offers remarkable dustproof performance to protect the camera from dry, dusty environments and exceptional cold-resistant performance for reliable operation at temperatures as low as –10°C
- The Optio WG-1 GPS comes equipped with a sophisticated GPS function, which allows users to record position data when shooting still images and to take advantage of various GPS-compatible applications and services provided by the included software* as well as web sites such as Google Maps™. The GPS function also updates the built-in clock automatically to match local time of a particular shooting location and automatically creates and stores log data as a KML-format file onto an SD memory card. This log feature allows users to keep accurate track of the movement during outdoor shooting and display it later on the computer using various online services such as Google Earth™.

- Combining a 14 megapixel sensor with a new, sophisticated imaging process and high performance zoom lens, the Optio WG-1 GPS produces beautiful, high-resolution prints with fine details, even when enlarged to poster sizes.
- 5X wide angle internal optical zoom lens, covering an angle of view equivalent to approximately 28 to 140 mm in 35 mm format is ideal for shooting a broad spectrum of subjects, from landscapes to indoor, portrait or group photos.
- The large 2.7 inch, 230,000 dot LCD screen features a 16:9 widescreen aspect ratio.
A special AR (Anti-Reflection) coating cuts the glare of external light and minimizes reflections, making it easy to observe the subject, monitor recorded images and view on-screen menus, even in bright sunlight. - Triple anti-shake protection to prevent different types of camera shake: Pixel Track SR mode effectively compensates for camera shake during still-image shooting digitally without increasing image noise, High-Sensitivity SR mode automatically raises the sensitivity up to ISO 6400 under poor-lighting conditions and the Movie SR mode prevents blurry images by effectively minimizing camera shake through the use of exclusive software.
- The Face Detection function detects up to 32 faces- even the faces of dogs and cats- in the image field, then catches them in sharp focus and in optimum exposure in as little as 0.03 seconds. The unique Self-portrait Assist function uses the blink of the LED lights to confirm whether your face is centered in the picture.
- Capture beautiful, flawless movie clips at 16:9 high-definition TV proportions (1280 x 720 pixels) at a frame rate of 30 frames per second and offers a variety of editing functions. The Optio WG-1 GPS also has an HDMI micro terminal for audio/video signal output.
- Capture images remotely with infrared remote control capabilities (using optional PENTAX remote controller).
